Village fetes (festivals and fairs) are a major part of community life in rural villages and keep alive the traditions of the past. Unfortunately modern life is doing its best to destroy the fun and creativity employed by  endless red tape, PC, Health and Safety regulations, not too mention insurance costs and licences. Throughout the country fetes are being discontinued, as the responsibilities placed on organisers are becoming too onerous.
