Egdean - St. Bartholomews. This small 16th century building is isolated just off the main A283 between Fittleworth and Byworth. It stands at the end of an unmade lane all by itself but far from forlorn. Its monthly service is well attended and the parishoners give it great support and manifested by the fact that the church organ was fully renovated and restored by them in 2006/7.
Visitors may well find the doors locked but the keys can be obtained from Church House a private residence just below the church. Thousands pass the lane everyday but very few know of its exsistence.
